Mark Sirett is Director of the internationally award winning Cantabile Choirs of Kingston.  Karma Tomm is Director of Queen's Conservatory of Music and a violinist. Greg Tilson is a member of the concert series Apple Crisp and a founder and organizer of the Skeleton Park Music Festival. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On 25 March 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, three of Kingston's outstanding musicians, Mark Sirett, Karma Tomm, and Greg Tilson, will participate in a wide-ranging eclectic panel discussion at the Kingston Frontenac Public Library to be moderated by Al Rankin. Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear what they have learned in the course of developing their careers and assisting in the musical development of their community, students, and colleagues. The discussion will range from classical and choral to indie music.
Get tips on how to arrange your own gig, how to join a choir, where to get help with perfecting your technique, learn about venues in Kingston, who's who in the music field, organizing community music groups, and how to advance your career. Hear about both good musical decisions and mistakes made. Please bring your questions and be ready to join in the lively discussion. The Kingston Arts Council would be delighted to receive your questions in advance and will forward them to the panellists for their consideration prior to the event.
