Domino Theatre's fifth play of the season is "Doubt" written by *John
Patrick Shanley*. For his script for the movie, /Moonstruck/
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moonstruck>, Shanley won the Academy Award
for Best Original Screenplay.

Set in a parochial school in the Bronx in 1964, "Doubt" concerns a
school principal, Sister Aloysius, who does not approve of teachers
offering friendship and compassion over the discipline she feels
students need to face the harsh world. When she suspects a new priest of
sexually abusing a young student, she is faced with the prospect of
charging him with unproven allegations and possibly destroying his
career, as well as her own. To help build her case, she asks for help
from an idealistic young nun, who finds her faith in compassion
challenged, and the mother of the student, who is protective of her son,
the first black student ever admitted to St. Nicholas.

*"Doubt"/ /is directed by Frances Berry. The cast consists of Sandie
Cond, known for her many highly praised theatrical performances in
Kingston, Chris Sleeth, last seen heading up the cast of "/A Thousand
Clowns",/ Sara Harrison, a newcomer to Kingston with a wealth of acting
experience, and Tamara Thomas, a second year Queen's drama student. *

* "Doubt" is Domino Theatre's entry into the Eastern Ontario Drama
League Festival to be held in Peterborough from March 24^th - March 27^th .*

* ***"Doubt"/ /opens at the Baby Grand Theatre on February 25^th and
runs Thursday to Saturday until March 13^th , with an additional show on
Tuesday, March 9^th . Tickets are $18, plus a Grand Theatre surcharge,
and can be purchased in advance through the Grand Theatre at 218
Princess Street or by calling 613-530-2050. Any remaining tickets will
be on sale the night of the performance at the Grand Theatre box office
until show time at 8 pm. Tickets on Thursday nights for members, seniors
and students are $14, plus a Grand Theatre surcharge, at the box office,
subject to availability.
