Help us serve you better - REGISTER EARLY and AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT EARLY BIRD Guest Artist Lila Lewis Irving: June 25-29! We welcome Lila Lewis Irvine back as guest artist for the St. Lawrence College Summer School of the Arts. Please visit Lila’s website at http://lilalewisirving.com/biosocieties. “My painting is an energetic and intense process which results in emotional abstracted work, deeply felt. The impetus is a response to a visual, an emotional or a musical world, or all three. The shapes are bold and simplified, the colours saturated, the brushstrokes energetic.” Course Description: ABSTRACTION IN ACRYLIC This is a course in pure abstraction, sometimes called non-objective. There will be an emphasis on learning about design and value and on simplification of abstract shapes. We will work on small design projects, then value studies and then go into larger ( 22” x 30”) format on paper, and optionally larger, on canvas. The course will be challenging but amazingly productive--a real learning experience. Bring along a willingness to plunge and a sense of joy!
