Experiencing the Moods of Colour, 1000 Islands Summer School of the Arts

Colour is all around us subtly influencing our lives in ways that you may never have thought of. In this non technical colour workshop you will start to experience colour in a new and unique way. We will begin each session by looking at the historical, psychological and spiritual meaning of each of the seven main colours. Using personal imagery gathered through guided visualizations you will then work with each colour to create an expressive painting. This 4 day workshop is for both beginners starting their creative journey and experienced artists who want a different understanding of the power of colour in our world. Susanne is a painter and printmaker originally from New Zealand. From 1993 through 2001 she taught classes in both Ottawa and Toronto under the name of Art Insight. These unique classes focused on using art for personal development and inner growth. The following years were spent in the UK where she studied under two amazing artists, printmaker Peter Wray and artist Doug Wales. She returned to Toronto 2008. She has work in private and corporate collections in Canada, the UK, USA, NZ and Europe. Work from her Musical Series is regularly used throughout the world on concert programs and posters for musical events.
