Journalists for Human Rights (JHR)

There are 5 new positions now available at Journalists for Human Rights (JHR). These include two positions in Sierra Leone and three internships in Toronto (including summer internships).

A) Country Director in Sierra Leone: JHR is currently seeking a Country Director to help establish and then run JHR's new office in Freetown, Sierra Leone. JHR will be working with local partners to build the capacity of local media organizations and journalists to report more effectively on human rights issues. B) Expert Trainer in Sierra Leone: JHR will hire one Expert Trainer to conduct journalism training activities (including workshops, preparing curriculum, lecturing and mentorship) across Sierra Leone (eight months, full-time in Sierra Leone plus preparation of materials before departure). C) International Programs Intern, Toronto: The selected candidate will start working immediately with JHR’s international projects team in Toronto for one-month. This is a full-time, unpaid, internship. For more information, please see http://www.jhr.ca/opportunities.html.

D) Summer Intern—JHR Domestic Programs, Toronto: JHR is seeking a full-time summer intern to work in JHR Domestic Programs department from May 14th to August 31st. The selected candidate will work on the development and management of JHR’s School Chapter Program under the supervision of JHR’s Domestic Programs Director, Bronwyn Bragg. E) Summer Intern—Membership/Donor Relations, Toronto: JHR is seeking a full-time summer intern to work on in JHR’s Membership/Donor Relations department from May 14th to August 31st. The selected applicant will work on the development and management of JHR’s Membership program. The goal of the program is to create a group of loyal JHR Members who will provide a steady stream of support, helping JHR grow beyond its current capacity.
