*Keynote address* (in partnership with the Community Arts Practice program at York University):

*Mbala** *- artist, poet and musician with the Area Youth Foundation in Kingston, Jamaica. Through music and poetry, Mbala shares how Kingston's inner city youth created murals that help reduce division and violence in their communities.

*Symposium sessions include:*

* History of Mural Art, Friday afternoon lecture with master mural artist/educator John Hood
* Our Space: Our Stories, roundtable discussion featuring a presentation by Project: Urban Canvas (Amnesty International Toronto)
* Contractual Agreements and your mural project, with David McClyment, Co-ordinator Fine Arts Studio program, Centennial College
* Off the Wall: Working on Alternate Supports and Surfaces, with Donna Mayne, Art Director - City of Windsor Art Studio and Rob Matejka, mural artist/installation specialist
* Mural Maintenance and Conservation, with reports from Getty Conservation Institute and Debra Daly Hartin, Canadian Conservation Institute
* Engaging Communities through Mural Making, with Julie Frost, Art Director - Arts for Children Toronto
