Stone Soup Remixed

H’art School will proudly present Stone Soup Remixed on Wednesday, April 13th at Duncan McArthur Hall at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. The new musical play is a retelling of the old folk tale but with some brand new ingredients including song, dance, movement, art, drama, and the points of view of adults with intellectual disabilities. The play itself is really a behind-the-scenes look at H'art's students getting ready to put on a play. They don’t want to tell the same old folk tale in the usual way. Instead, they want to bring all their talents and gifts to the telling of it. And, just as if you added new ingredients to an old recipe, the play takes on a new flavour. H'art School is a non-profit, charitable organization helping adults with intellectual disabilities reach their highest potential through education and the arts. The play is the creative culmination of a semester of learning about healthy eating, healthy activity and healthy choices. Stone Soup Remixed is directed by Kathryn McKay of the Thousand Islands Playhouse with music by H’art students in collaboration with composer, David Archibald. Well-known Kingston musician, Jenica Rayne will perform. Tickets to the evening show are $10. Tickets to the matinee are $2 for kids under 14. Call 613-545-1392 to reserve your ticket today.
