In April, 2010, the Great Canadian Theatre Company and the New Theatre of Ottawa opened FACTS, a murder mystery set in the West Bank, written by former Artistic Director of GCTC, playwright Arthur Milner. Audiences in Ottawa were excited and impressed by FACTS — as was Kamel Elbasha, Artistic Director of the Palestinian National Theatre. FACTS is now scheduled for production, in Arabic, this November. It will open in East Jerusalem and travel to Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin, Nazareth and Haifa. FACTS will be coproduced by the Palestinian National Theatre and the New Theatre of Ottawa. The cast and translator are Palestinian. The playwright, designer, and director are Canadian. You are invited to support this important project by coming to a reading of the play by Kingston actors Brett Christopher, Craig Walker and Greg Wanless. The reading will be followed by a talk back with the playwright, Arthur Milner. This event will take place on Monday, June 6th at 7:30 at the Firehall Theatre in Gananoque. Suggested minimum donation is $20.
