This year’s festival
will showcase numerous acclaimed and award-winning
films over the course
of five days, including the Opening Gala
film "Everything’s
Gone Green".
The Festival will also
feature many special events including workshops,
seminars,
one-on-one
sessions and the Local Shorts Program as
part of the Local Filmmaking Initiative. Full information

Presented by the Kingston Whig-Standard and Cogeco,
this year’s program will feature a cross-section
of the very best in Canadian film.
The Festival is grateful for the support of the
City of Kingston’s Healthy Community Fund,
the George Taylor Richardson Memorial Fund and
the Community Foundation of Greater Kingston. This
event
has been financially assisted by the Ontario Cultural
Attractions Fund a program of the Government of
Ontario through the Ministry of Culture, administered
by
the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund Corporation.
The Kingston Canadian Film Festival works in partnership
with the Film Circuit, a division of the Toronto
International Film Festival Group. The 2007 Kingston
Canadian Film Festival is presented by The Kingston
Whig-Standard and Cogeco. "Congorama" (Genie Award - Best
Original Screenplay)
"Snow Cake" (Genie Award - Performance
by an Actress in a Supporting Role, Carrie-Ann Moss)
"The
Danish Poet" (Oscar nominee - Best Animated
Short Film; Genie Award - Best Animated Short)
and many others.
All access VIP passes are $65 and include entrance
to the Opening Gala film and reception. Sponsored
by Tango, Black Prince Winery and Steamwhistle, the
opening reception will take place at Tango following
the opening film screening on Thursday March 8, 2007.
Passes go on sale Tuesday February 20, 2007 at The
Grand Theatre, Empire Capitol 7 Theatre and the Screening
Room Movie Theatre.

Canadian film industry guests to participate in
special events and screenings
Kingston - The Kingston Canadian Film Festival
is pleased to announce the film industry guests who
will be in attendance throughout the Festival, March
7-11, 2007. This year’s guest list includes
Don McKellar (actor, Monkey Warfare), Paul Fox (director,
Everything’s Gone Green) and Stefan Brogren

The 2007 Kingston Canadian Film Festival will be
held March 7-11, 2007. LOCAL
FILMMAKING INITIATIVE
Workshops, master class and one-on-one sessions will
run throughout festival
Kingston - The Kingston Canadian Film Festival
is pleased to announce details regarding its Local
Filmmaking Initiative workshops, master class and
one-on-one sessions, which will take place during
the 2007 festival, March 7-11. The workshops and
one-on-one sessions are offered entirely free of
charge but participants must pre-register on the
Festival’s official website www.kingcanfilmfest.com
and apply for the one-on-one sessions.
Three workshops will be held throughout the Festival,
including the NFB Kids’ Animation Workshop,
which will take place at the National Film Board’s
Mediatheque in Toronto. The Acting Workshop, facilitated
by Barry Blake will take participants through the
art, the business and the craft of acting in film
and television. The Production Company Workshop,
led by Queen’s University graduates Wyeth Clarkson
and Phil Daniels, will examine varying approaches,
challenges and the fundamentals for starting a film
production company. The 2007 Local Filmmaking Initiative
will also feature a master class led by legendary
filmmaker Allan King, whose 50th year in filmmaking
will be celebrated throughout the Festival. Master
class registration is $25 and is limited to 20 participants.
The one-on-one sessions are designed to offer local
filmmakers the opportunity to interact with and learn
from experienced film industry professionals. To
be selected, applicants must have a project in progress.
The submission period closes Sunday March 4. Applicants
will be notified by Tuesday March 6 as to the status
of their submissions. One-on-one session application
forms and online workshop and mast class registration
